Join Peta Christie’s table

Please confirm your seat at Peta Christie’s table for Smiling Mind’s first ever ‘Reimagining Childhood Lunch’ during the 2025 Melbourne Royal Show.

Together, we can be inspired to create generational change in mental health.

Event details:

  • Date: Wednesday 1 October, 12:00pm - 4:00pm. Formalities will conclude just after 3pm, with the opportunity for guests to stay and mingle until 4pm.

  • Location: MasterChef Kitchen, Melbourne Showgrounds (Centenary Hall, 7 Leonard Cres, Flemington/Ascot Vale VIC 3032)

  • Dress code: Smart Casual. (Please note: stilettos and high heels are not permitted in the MasterChef Kitchen)


Cost:

There is no cost to you, as your generous host has purchased a table. These critical funds will go to supporting Australian children to build mental fitness skills through our evidence based Primary School Program. There will be no further fundraising on the day.

Event Highlights:

As well as speakers from Smiling Mind, guests will experience:

  • Culinary Journey A one-of-a-kind dining experience featuring a curated menu by some of Australia’s most celebrated chefs from Vue de Monde, Amaru, BistroX and Butter Days Bakery.

  • Panel Discussion – Hosted by Dr Addie Wootten, featuring Prof Frank Oberklaid AM (paediatrician & leading child health expert), Em Howells (Youth Advocate, lived experience), and Leigh Tankey (Educator and Head of Curriculum, Agnes Water State School).

Getting there

 
 

Rideshare/Taxi

Guests are encouraged to take an Uber or Taxi to the designated drop-off at Gate 7 on Leonard Crescent, Ascot Vale. This is a short 3-minute walk to the venue.

Please note: no general parking is available.

Public Transport 

  • Train: Metro Trains will have extra services running every 10 minutes in and out of Showgrounds Station, with trains departing from Flinders Street, Southern Cross and North Melbourne stations. The station is located right next to the entrance gates, with a short walk to Gate 7.

  • Tram: Route 57 from Stop 1 Elizabeth St/Flinders St to Stop 32 Sandown Rd/Epsom Rd. Extra trams run every day of the Show.

  • Bus: Routes 404 and 472 travel regularly to the Melbourne Showgrounds precinct.

Meeting Point

All guests are asked to meet at the Gate 8 entrance to the Showgrounds, where there will be Smiling Mind signage and the Smiling Mind team in branded uniforms to greet you. From there, our team will chaperone you to the MasterChef Kitchen entrance.
