Mental Fitness is something we can all build.

At Smiling Mind, mental fitness is about proactively supporting our emotional resilience, mental health and wellbeing. Like physical fitness, it’s not something we either have or don’t have — it’s something we can practise and strengthen over time.

If you tried one of our Mental Fitness Breaks at APPA, you experienced some of these skills in action — flexible thinking, recognising strengths, connection and savouring positive experiences.

For children, social and emotional learning provides the foundation for developing these skills early in life. Through regular practice, children build a toolkit that helps them understand themselves, connect with others, navigate difficult emotions and respond to challenges with greater resilience.

That’s where the Smiling Mind Primary School Program comes in.

Our evidence-informed, whole-school approach helps children learn, practise and apply the social and emotional skills that build mental fitness — setting them up to thrive at school, at home and throughout life.
