Michelle's special area of interest is the complementary relationship between mindfulness and prayer, to promote the spiritual and emotional growth of students and staff.
As a classroom teacher of many years, and now as a principal, Michelle has first-hand experience of the importance of evidence-based wellbeing strategies to support the social and emotional learning of students.
She believes it is essential for students develop a sense of calm, safety and belonging within the school environment, in order for them to flourish in all aspects of learning.
Michelle feels that practising mindfulness is a powerful strategy to assist self-regulation in children, and at a school leadership level we must engage teachers with the scientific evidence that proves the effectiveness of mindfulness for students.
