I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Monash University half way through last year. Since then I've interned at a design studio, worked for a tech start up company and am now at Smiling Mind! It's definitely been a full on year and a bit but I'm so happy to be gaining experience and continuing to learn and grow as a designer!

The best thing about working at Smiling Mind…

The people and the cause! To be surrounded by such incredible people, all of whom are so passionate about helping others and striving to improve mental health is so so inspiring. This all sounds so corny but I've genuinely learnt so much from this group of people, everyone brings something different to the table and so much value to the team. It's an awesome feeling to know that all the hard work everyone puts in is going directly towards helping people live a happier and more mindful life.

The biggest challenge in my role:

Because I love everything about Smiling Mind's mission and vision, I want to make sure everything looks as perfect as possible.

If I wasn’t working at Smiling Mind I’d…

Hopefully I would have snuck my way into some kind of design studio!... Although I did recently look up what qualifications you need to be a zookeeper so I mean, who knows?

What I do when I’m not at work:

I try to pat as many dogs as humanly possibly, tag friends in quality memes, eat really good food with really good humans (probably the same ones I tagged in the memes). I also do a bit of freelance design work, and then a tonne of other design related things that I won't mention because it will make me sound like a massive nerd.

On meditation:

It’s taught me so much about myself, who I am and who I want to be.

My favourite inspirational quote:

"Fall in love with taking care of yourself. Fall in love with becoming the best version of yourself but with patience, with compassion and respect to your own journey"
- S. McNutt
