Clare Sutton — Project Manager

I am a passionate project manager experienced in the design, implementation and evaluation of national, state-wide and local public health projects. I have led and coordinated quality improvement, policy implementation and research projects within the mental health and supportive care in cancer space.

I completed an 8-week introduction to mindfulness course a few years ago and after noticing the personal benefits, I continue to integrate mindfulness and meditation into my life as often as I can!

The best thing about working at Smiling Mind…

I'm excited to have the opportunity to use my project management skills in something I'm so passionate about. I feel lucky I get to see and hear about the benefits of mindfulness in improving the mental health of others.

The biggest challenge in my role:

Time management – there is always so much going on and so little time!

If I wasn’t working at Smiling Mind I’d…

A professional dog patter.

What I do when I’m not at work:

Cook & eat baked goods, attend various arts and crafts classes, enjoy Melbourne's many bars/cafes/restaurants/exhibitions, practice yoga, walk/ride along the Yarra.

On meditation:

It’s something that gives me an opportunity to have the space and clarity to better enjoy and appreciate my environment,  those around me and myself.

My favourite inspirational quote:

“A ship is safer in the harbour, but that's not what ships are for”
— John Shedd
