Ambassador - Michelle Moore

Michelle Moore Education Advisor

It is essential our students develop a sense of safety and belonging within the school environment, in order for them to flourish in all aspects of learning. Practising mindfulness is a powerful strategy to assist self-regulation in children; at a school leadership level we must engage our teachers with the scientific evidence that proves the effectiveness of mindfulness for our students.

Michelle is Deputy Principal at St. Joseph's Primary School, Elsternwick and is a member of the Australian Council for Educational Leaders. Her teaching career began nearly thirty years ago and where she has taught in the Catholic primary system, both in Australia and the UK.

She holds a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership (ACU), a Post-graduate Certificate in Catholic Studies (ACU) and a Bachelor of Primary Education with Honours (LJMU).

Michelle's special area of interest is the complementary relationship between mindfulness and prayer, to promote the spiritual and emotional growth of students and staff.

As a classroom teacher, and now as a Deputy Principal, Michelle has first hand experience of the importance of evidence-based wellbeing strategies to support the social and emotional learning of our students.

She believes it is essential for students develop a sense of safety and belonging within the school environment, in order for them to flourish in all aspects of learning.
